Cathy:Welcome to Late Boomers, our podcast guide to creating your 3rd act with style, power, and impact. Hi. I'm Cathy Worthington.
Merry:And I'm Merry Elkins. Join us as we bring you conversations with successful entrepreneurs, entertainers, and people with vision who are making a difference in the world.
Cathy:Everyone has a story and we'll take you along for the ride on each interview, recounting the journey our guests have taken to get where they are, inspiring you to create your own path to success. Let's get started.
Cathy:Hi. I'm Cathy Worthington. Welcome to the 2025 edition of our late boomers podcast. We are thrilled to have you with us for another year.
Merry:And I'm Merry Elkins. As we step into a new year, let's take a minute to reflect on the incredible journey of the baby boomers. They've paved the way for so many of us.
Cathy:Absolutely, Mary. As the quote from Maya Angelou goes, you can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have. So true. Resonates so deeply with the spirit of baby boomers who have shown us the power of reinvention.
Merry:And I love this quote from Oprah Winfrey. The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.
Cathy:Yes. Love it.
Merry:It reminds us that it's never too late to pursue our passions. Here's to a wonderful 2025 filled with growth, adventure, and dreams coming true.
Cathy:And here's a little practical advice for our boomers and all our audience. Everyone is starting off the new year with an eye and ear toward health and wellness. So Mary and I wanna start you off with the info on 5 of the most important apps to help you track your wellness.
Merry:It can be very challenging to know where to start with all the options out there, but our first recommendation is My Fitness Pal. This app helps you track your diet, especially after you've been eating all throughout the holidays, and exercise, making it easy to follow a healthy lifestyle. It's very user friendly and offers a large database of foods.
Cathy:Great choice. Next up is HealthMate from Withings. It lets you track everything from your heart rate to your sleep patterns, which is perfect for those who want a comprehensive overview of their health.
Merry:Our third recommendation is Medisafe, a medication management app. It sends reminders to take medications and helps us keep track of dosages, which is so helpful.
Cathy:And 4th, we have Fitbit. Not only does it track your steps and activity levels, but it also provides insights into your sleep quality and heart health when paired with a Fitbit device.
Merry:And if you have an iPhone, there's the health app on it that tracks everything from the number of steps you take a day to heart hate heart health, to your mental well-being, and so much more. These are 5 fantastic apps. They empower boomers to take charge of their health in a simple and effective way.
Cathy:Exactly. We encourage our listeners to explore these apps and do some of your own research and see how you could fit these things into your daily routines. Tracking health data offers numerous benefits such as spotting health trends and being able to identify changes or potential health issues early on. Keeping track of your lifestyle choices such as diet and exercise promotes more informed decision making.
Merry:So let's close out our happy new year message with a couple more inspirational quotes. I love
Cathy:this one from Eleanor Roosevelt. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. This is encouraging to all of us to hang on to our dreams no matter what our age is.
Merry:And here's a quote from Helen Keller, which I've always loved. And it's perfect to know you to embrace new experiences in 2025. Here we go. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.
Cathy:There you go. And from Steve Jobs, I love this. Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. That's a reminder to embrace our own paths.
Merry:So in the upcoming weeks, we have some great interviews coming up on our late boomers podcast for you, which will inspire your lives and get you on track for 2025.
